Etowah Indian Burial Mounds - Cartersville, Georgia
Jordan Fink was on assignment at the Etowah Indian Burial Grounds shooting photos of the mounds for the United Cherokee Republic of North America. This is one of many photographs shot in the area.
This major Mississippian Period Cultural Center was home to several thousand Native Americans from 1000 to 1500 AD. The largest mound stands over 63 feet high and covers three acres. The impressive archaeological museum interprets life in what is now known as the Etowah Valley Historic District.
